The other day, I was passing through Richardson on my way to a meeting with a client.  It was approaching 3 PM and I had not eaten since breakfast.  I saw the Grand Cafe's sign in a strip center and decided to try it.  This is an authentic Greek family who prepare authentic Greek food.

I was totally amazed!!!!  Really, really good and authentic.  Comes on a paper plate with plastic silverware.  That probably has a lot to do with why my dinner, including delicious soup and a Coke and tax was about $12.50.

Take Bill's word for it.  You've got to try this one.

This place is AMAZING. Don't let the unassuming restaurant in a strip mall fool you, walk yourself inside, and order some takeout. Please do yourself this favor. I always get the shish tawook plate, and it is such a great lunch. You get chicken, fattoush, the creamiest hummus in all the land, and rice. Sometimes they'll even throw in a complimentary soup!
I used to work near here, and miss it so much. Any time I get a chance pick it up I will! The food is all fresh, and it is a family run establishment. You can taste the fresh grill sears in your chicken, and tell that the hummus is made fresh often.

Mom and Pop type of feeling. Great prices, DELICIOUSLY FRESH food cooked right in front of you. Falafel platter was amazing (fresh falafel, homemade hummus, tahini sauce  [not yogurt sauce...awesome] and plenty of parsley salad to go with falafels).

Great chicken shawarma sandwich.  Total hole in the wall.  Worth checking out if you're in the area.

The owner is eccentric but in the best way. Unbelievably pure of heart and honest. His prices haven't changed in 20+ years. His sandwiches are AMAZING. chicken philly. Chicken shawarma. Beef shawarma is what I've tried.

Unbelievably genuine and good hearted man. Best shawarma in Dallas.
